Disconnect to Reconnect:
A PSA on Digital Mindfulness
Disconnect to Reconnect is a public service announcement series exploring digital detox and mindfulness through the lens of Turkish modernist aesthetics. Each piece, inspired by Mengü Ertel, Devrim Erbil, and Bedri Rahmi Eyüboglu, visualizes how technology disrupts real connection, mental clarity, and human relationships. "Disconnect to Truly See" juxtaposes a Devrim Erbil-inspired Istanbul with elements of Bedri Rahmi’s expressive symbolism, reminding us of the beauty we overlook when consumed by digital noise. "Charge Your Mind, Not Your Screen" references Mengü Ertel’s iconic theater posters and calligraphic compositions, illustrating the mental exhaustion of constant screen engagement. "What Holds You Back from Real Connection?" reimagines Michelangelo’s 'The Creation of Adam', but the hands are tangled in phone charger cables, reinforcing how technology interrupts human bonds. This campaign transforms a social issue into a visual conversation, blending folk motifs, abstraction, and expressive textures to highlight a simple yet powerful message: Step back. Unplug. Reconnect.
