Fragmented Identity: A Study of Facial Features

This project is an exploration of self-representation through fragmented observation. Each drawing captures a specific facial feature—eyes, nose, lips, and hair—detached from the whole yet deeply connected in essence. By isolating these elements, I examined the details that shape identity, emphasizing texture, contrast, and expression.

Through graphite and charcoal, I rendered the intricate details of the skin, the subtle transitions of light, and the organic curves that define each feature. This process was an artistic study and a reflection on how we perceive and recognize ourselves in parts rather than as a whole.

Each segment holds its weight, revealing personality and emotion independently. Together, they create a disjointed yet intimate self-portrait—an abstraction of identity that invites the viewer to piece together the whole picture.
